Jabs Newby
Saint John Riptide (NBL Canada) released 26-year old guard Jabs Newby (188-86kg-91, college: Gannon). In 25 NBL Canada games he had 6.1ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.9apg this season.
The last season Newby played at Windsor Express. But in 5 NBL Canada games he recorded just 1.6ppg.
His team made it to the NBL Canada Semifinals in 2016.
Newby has played previously professionally in D-League (Raptors 905 Missisauga).
He attended Gannon University until 2014 and it is his third season as a professional player.
Newby could be described: A guard with outstanding athletic ability, skills, and aggressiveness. He's a big, strong power guard with great leaping abilities.

River Lions net first-ever 3-game win streak - 2 days ago
A funny thing has happened since the Niagara River Lions increased their Canadian content. The team hasn't lost. A's fall on the road to Niagara River Lions, 121-106 - 5 days ago
After losing a close one to the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans the night before, the Orangeville A's (15-22) headed to the Meridian Centre to take on the Niagara River Lions for a 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon game. Both teams started the game evenly matched offensively as an exchange of baskets ensued early. Anthony Harris continued his great play for the A's as he steadily hit shots and found his way to the basket for a 10-point opening quarter. Jameson Tipping (6'7''-G, college: W.Kentucky) was...   [read more]
