Ed Horton
Ed Horton (6'1''-PG-85, college: Murray St.) erupted for 30 points in his debut with the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans as he paced the visitors to a 92-88 decision over the Niagara River Lions in Tuesday's action. Horton, just acquired in a trade from K-W's National Basketball League of Canada rivals, the London Lightning, wasted little time lighting up the scoreboard. The guard from Shreveport, La. was instrumental in London's drive to the league's championship game last year. Tuesday morning's school day game at the Meridian Centre saw four Titans hit double-digit scoring including; Greg Morrow (6'3''-F, college: Western) (14), Adam Blazek (6'1''-PG-92, college: Gannon) (13) and Adam Wing (6'4''-G-93, college: Evansville) (11). Kirk Williams (6'7''-PF-81, college: Bridgeport) Jr. did most of the damage for the River Lions. He poured in 26 points and added 13 rebounds. The visitors led by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter. K-W's other new arrival, Canadian forward Anthony Ottley (6'6''-F-91, college: Red Deer) Jr., added two points in limited duty off the bench. The victory improves K-W's record to 9-12 (won-lost), while the division's last-place team from Niagara dipped to 7-13. The Titans return home on Saturday night to do battle with the Orangeville A's. It's a 7 p.m. tipoff at the Kitchener Aud. K-W also entertains the River Lions on Sunday at 2 p.m.
