Tharpe
Niagara River Lions (NBL Canada) agreed terms with 26-year old American point guard Naadir Tharpe (180-77kg-91, college: Kansas). He started the season at Delaware 87ers (D-League) in the U.S. In only one game he recorded 11 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists this season.
Three years ago Tharpe was drafted by Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in second round (26th overall).
The former University of Kansas staris in his third season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Tharpe's team won Big 12 Regular Season in 2012 and 2014. He was also voted All-Big 12 Honorable Mention back in 2014 at his college time.
On Tharpe: A smart, unselfish player who Bill Self likes to compare to KU's all-time assists leader Aaron Miles... Kansas' 2014 Led Kansas in assists (170), three-point field goal percentage, & Free Throw percentage. The floor general that controlled the tempo playing with the #1 and #3 NBA Draft selections in 2014.

River Lions outlast Moncton - 3 days ago
The Niagara River Lions refuse to go down without a fight. With four games left in the regular season, the River Lions entered Friday night's game at Meridian Centre knowing they couldn't lose. And seven periods of basketball later - a franchise record - the Lions outlasted the Moncton Miracles 141-137 in triple overtime. The 141 points were also a franchise record. And it was only the second time in NBL Canada history a game went to a third overtime. 'I'm so proud of the guys,' said a sm...   [read more]
