Carl English
St. John's Edge (NBL Canada) signed experienced 36-year old Canadian ex-international guard Carl English (195-81, college: Hawaii). He played last season at ALBA Berlin in German BBL league. English managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 24 BBL games he had 9.0ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.0apg. He helped them to make it to the German Bundesliga Cup Semifinals. English also played 7 games in Eurocup where he recorded 7.4ppg and 2.0rpg. The other team he played shortly was CB Canarias in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 6 games he averaged 6.3ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.5apg. English also played 5 games in Basketball Champions League where he got impressive 15.2ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.2apg. He also spent pre-season at RETAbet (Liga Endesa) in Spain that year.
In 2003 English was drafted by Idaho Stampede (CBA) in fourth round (25th overall).
He attended University of Hawaii and it will be his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others English's team made it to the Cup (Copa del Rey) Semifinals in 2012. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 League Co-Newcomer of the Year in 2015.
English was also a member of Canadian international program for some years. He played for Canadian Senior National Team between 2005 and 2015 and previously for U21 National Team back in 2000.
English also represented Canada at the Panamerican Games in Toronto (Canada) two years ago. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 5 games: 4.4ppg, 1.6rpg.
English is quite experienced player. He has played in six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). English has played previously professionally in Croatia (KK Zadar), Italy (Virtus Bologna), Puerto Rico (Gallitos), Spain (Joventut, Baskonia, Movil Estudiantes, Real Betis and Gran Canaria), Greece (AEK Athens) and D-League (Florida F.).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at St. John's Edge.

Maurice Jones (5'7''-PG-91, college: Northwood) scored 26 points, but the Windsor Express lost to the Hurricanes 120-102 in Halifax Thursday night. The Express fall to 2-3 on the season with the loss, their second in a row after dropping a squeaker Wednesday at Cape Breton.
