Halifax Rainmen (NBL Canada) waived 24-year old American center Paul Nelson (210-100kg-88, college: Yale). In 12 NBL Canada games he played this season he recorded 5.4ppg and 5.0rpg.
The last season Nelson played at CS Dinamo Bucuresti in Romanian Division A. In 7 games last year he averaged 10.7ppg, 10.1rpg, 1.0apg and 1.0bpg.
The previous (10-11) season he played at Durham Wildcats in British BBL. In 16 games that season he averaged 12.1ppg and 9.5rpg.
Nelson graduated from Yale University in 2010 and it is his third season in pro basketball.

Windsor Express (NBL Canada) waived 26-year old Vincentian ex-international center Akeme Smart (221-104kg-91, college: McCook CC). Smart managed to play in three leagues in two countries this year.
