The 4-6 St. John Mill Rats announced today that the club had signed DeAndre Taylor (6'5''-G-89, college: N.Michigan), pending clearance, as well as Joe Posey (6'5''-G-85, college: JMU), while releasing Antonio Anderson (6'6''-G-85, college: Memphis) and deactivating Modibo Diarra (6'10''-C/F-80, college: Memphis).

DeAndre Taylor is a 23-year old shooting guard who will be beginning his professional career in the NBL after being released by the Springfield Armor of the NBA D-League prior to the start of their season. A two-year starter at Northern Michigan (NCAA DII), Taylor, 6-5, averaged 14.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.1 steals last season in 26 games.
Joe Posey, 27, is a 6-5 guard out of Southern Polytechnic (NCAA DII) who played last season in the American Basketball Association for the NoVa Wonders.
Antonio Anderson, a former standout guard for the Memphis Tigers (NCAA) appeared in eight contests for the Mill Rats, averaging 2.5 points on 8-24 shooting from the field.
The 6-10 Modibo Diarra appeared in seven games averaging 1.3 points and 1.0 rebounds.

Niagara River Lions (NBL Canada) waived 26-year old American point guard Tyshawn Patterson (185-79kg-91, college: N.Greenville). In 28 NBL Canada games he recorded 10.5ppg, 3.1rpg and 2.0apg this season. The last season Patterson played at London Lightning where in 45 NBL Canada games he averaged 12.7ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.1apg. Niagara River Lions (NBL Canada) waived 33-year old American forward Chris Commons (206-100kg-84, college: USC Aiken). In 25 NBL Canada games he recorded 12.8ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.1apg and 1.0bpg this season. Commons also played earlier that season for Riptide. Chad Frazier (6'4''-G-92, college: UAB) made the first of two free throws with 0.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give the Cape Breton Highlanders a 100-99 victory over the Halifax Hurricanes at Scotiabank Centre on Sunday afternoon.
