The 4-6 St. John Mill Rats announced today that the club had signed DeAndre Taylor (6'5''-G-89, college: N.Michigan), pending clearance, as well as Joe Posey (6'5''-G-85, college: JMU), while releasing Antonio Anderson (6'6''-G-85, college: Memphis) and deactivating Modibo Diarra (6'10''-C/F-80, college: Memphis).

DeAndre Taylor is a 23-year old shooting guard who will be beginning his professional career in the NBL after being released by the Springfield Armor of the NBA D-League prior to the start of their season. A two-year starter at Northern Michigan (NCAA DII), Taylor, 6-5, averaged 14.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.1 steals last season in 26 games.
Joe Posey, 27, is a 6-5 guard out of Southern Polytechnic (NCAA DII) who played last season in the American Basketball Association for the NoVa Wonders.
Antonio Anderson, a former standout guard for the Memphis Tigers (NCAA) appeared in eight contests for the Mill Rats, averaging 2.5 points on 8-24 shooting from the field.
The 6-10 Modibo Diarra appeared in seven games averaging 1.3 points and 1.0 rebounds.

After serving five seasons as General Manager and president of the Saint John Mill Rats, Ian McCarthy has made the decision to resign from his role with the organization citing family pressures as the reason. Hurricanes Defeat Mill Rats and Advance to Finals - May 22, 2016

Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Saint John Mill Rats 109-80 in game four of the Atlantic Conference Championships, at the Harbour Station. Hurricanes sweep the Mill Rats in the 7 game series 4-0, and advance to the Finals. Hurricanes led the Mill Rats 26-19 at the end of the first quarter. Lightning Defeat Express, Lead Series 3-2 - May 22, 2016

Saturday night, in front of 6,626 fans at Budweiser Gardens, the London Lightning defeated the Windsor Express 108-98. The Lightning now lead the Express 3-2 in the best of seven playoff series.
