American swingman Antonio Ballard (193-G/F) put on an amazing game in the last round for Summerside S., receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The -year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 15 rebounds, while his team The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Summerside S. moved-up to the 3rd position in the NBLCanada NBL Canada. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Summerside S. will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 5-4 record. In the team's last game Ballard had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Summerside S.'s top player in his first season with the team. Former Miami University, Ohio star has very solid stats this year. Ballard is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 8.6rpg) and averages impressive 51.3% FGP. Worth to mention Ballard played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old American DeAnthony Bowden (186-PG-80) of league's leader London L.. Bowden had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 12 assists. Of course he lead London L. to another comfortable win 126-107 over the lower-ranked Oshawa P. (#5, 4-4) being unquestionably team leader. Of course London L. still keep the league's top spot. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 6 games without any defeat. Bowden is well-known at London L. and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Devin Sweetney (198-G/F-87, agency: Pro One Sports) of league's second-best Moncton M.. Sweetney got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Moncton M., leading his team to a 89-74 easy win against Montreal J. (#8, 0-5). Moncton M. needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 4 lost games. Sweetney has a great season in NBL. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.8ppg (best scorer).

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Cape Breton Highlanders (NBL Canada) signed experienced 54-year old American coach Rob Spon from Saint John Riptide. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in NBL Canada Atlantic Division. They also advanced to the league semifinals.
