Team Haywood won the National Basketball League of Canada Rogers All-Star Game by a score of 164-155 in front of 2,603 fans.

Leading Team Haywood was the Oshawa Powers Brandon Robinson (6'6''-F-89, college: Clayton St.) with 38 points. Robinson was named the Most Valuable Player of the All-Star game. The Moncton Miracles Trayvon Lathan (6'7''-G-84, college: Chowan) had 27 points in Team Haywoods win, followed by Tyrone Levett (6'5''-F-80, college: Alabama St.) with 24.

Winning MVP of anything is a really great feeling, but winning the honour among players as talented as those we saw here today is extra special, said Robinson, Participating in All-Star Weekend was a great opportunity for me.

The Halifax Rainmens Lawrence Wright (6'5''-F-84, college: Bradley) led Team Smith with 29 points, followed by captain Eddie Smith (6'2''-G-83, college: Ill.-Springfield) with 19. It was the second time this season that Cape Breton has defeated their provincial rivals on Halifax's home court. The Hurricanes jumped out to a 30-23 advantage following the first quarter. Hurricanes halt Miracles' win streak - 3 days ago
Even the prospects of tying a franchise record win streak could not change a familiar pattern. Led by Antoine Mason (6'3''-G-92, college: Auburn)'s 24 points and Mike Poole (6'6''-G/F-92, college: Iona)'s 20 points, the Halifax Hurricanes halted the Moncton Miracles season-high five-game win streak - one away from tying its franchise record - with a 101-93 win Thursday night at Moncton Coliseum. Halifax (24-7) now leads the season series 6-0. Moncton (11-17) was paced by Malik Story's 22...   [read more]

Although they had no success from behind the 3-point line, their interior presence provided consist...   [read more]
