Team Haywood wins inaugural NBL Canada All-Star Game - Apr 2, 2012

Team Haywood won the National Basketball League of Canada Rogers All-Star Game by a score of 164-155 in front of 2,603 fans.

Leading Team Haywood was the Oshawa Powers Brandon Robinson (6'6''-F-89, college: Clayton St.) with 38 points. Robinson was named the Most Valuable Player of the All-Star game. The Moncton Miracles Trayvon Lathan (6'7''-G-84, college: Chowan) had 27 points in Team Haywoods win, followed by Tyrone Levett (6'5''-F-80, college: Alabama St.) with 24.

Winning MVP of anything is a really great feeling, but winning the honour among players as talented as those we saw here today is extra special, said Robinson, Participating in All-Star Weekend was a great opportunity for me.

The Halifax Rainmens Lawrence Wright (6'5''-F-84, college: Bradley) led Team Smith with 29 points, followed by captain Eddie Smith (6'2''-G-83, college: Ill.-Springfield) with 19. NBL Canada MVP Gabe Freeman (6'6''-F-85, college: Costa Mesa JC) chipped in with 18 points, while Morgan Lewis added 16.

The London Lightning are off to the NBL championship series, after sweeping the Windsor Express in the Central Division final in four games. The Lightning won 112-100 at the Saturday night game in Lakeshore. Royce White (6'8''-F-91, college: Iowa St.) scored 29 points for the Lightning and pulled down 12 rebounds. Express Face 3-0 Series Deficit After Loss To Lightning - 4 days ago
The Windsor Express fell 122-97 to the London Lightning in Game 3 of the Central Division Finals on Thursday. At the end of the first quarter, the Express trailed the Lightning by two points, and London was able to gain a 61-43 advantage by halftime. London continued to hammer Windsor in the third to extend their lead to 90-71 heading into the final frame. The Island Storm latched on to a stingy defence and helped on by a cold-shooting Halifax Hurricanes took Game 3 103-96 in the teams best-of-seven Atlantic Division final Thursday in Charlottetown.
