Everyone writes their own story. Vet Group travelled a long road to reach the top of the mountain as they pick up their first ever NBBL Championship title under GM Luc Stevenson . A pool of 16 strong teams gave the Vet Group a battle tested road, game after game. However, their ability to lock and load from the outside and play big time basketball down the stretch of games helped them secure the top spot this season. Vet Group finished third in the Western Conference during the regular season and made quick work of their first two opponents in the playoffs en route to the Championship. Vet Group got out to the early lead and held a 30-27 margin going into the half. Parlez De Nous made a great come back to take the lead late in the second half however, Vet Group proved to be too much for PDN in a thrilling Championship game. Team captain/GM Luc Stevenson said he felt that he had the best team entering the season and this was his "YEAR" for a championship and he definitely didn't disappoint. This group truly resembled their team name exhibiting great poise, cohesiveness and chemistry throughout the entire season, helping to propel them to NBBL Champions. Jeremy Leonard-Smith (6'4''-F) earned his first ever Finals MVP and NBBL Championship as he tallied 19 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. This was Leonard-Smiths first season in the NBBL and all season he was a league stand out but tonight Inside the paint, or outside beyond the three point line, the 6'3 muscle man controlled the game by using unmatched strength dominating the game on the offensive end.
