Brett Brown
Brett Brown has one season remaining on his contract but the Sixers plan on working out a new deal with him long before his pact expires, as Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer relays. 'It happens all the time, but I don't think it's the healthiest of situations with coaching going into a season with one-year remaining on their contracts,' GM Bryan Colangelo said. 'It impacts so many aspects of what you're doing.' 'So I'm hopeful for the appropriate time we sit down and have some discussion with respect to his situation, and he realizes just how much we value him as the coach of this program.' The franchise previously expressed a desire to keep Brown on the sidelines long-term. The former Spurs assistant led Philadelphia to a 52-30 record this past season, helping the team reach the postseason for the first time in six years.

Celtics beat Cavs 96-83 in Game 5, lead East finals 3-2 - 8 hours ago
LeBron James (6'8''-SF-84) is tired. The young Boston Celtics seem to be getting stronger. Rookie Jayson Tatum (6'8''-F-98, college: Duke) scored 24 points - his ninth 20-point game of the postseason - and Boston beat Cleveland 96-83 on Wednesday night to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals. The Celtics held James to two fourth-quarter points, earning their 10th straight victory in Boston to remain perfect at home this postseason and move within one win of their...   [read more]

Amar'e Stoudemire working out, contemplating return to NBA at 35 - 8 hours ago
Six-time All-Star Amare Stoudemire (6'10''-F/C-82) said Wednesday that he's considering a return to the NBA. Stoudemire, 35, retired from the NBA in the 2016 offseason and last played professionally in Israel in 2017. In an interview on The Michael Kay Show on ESPN 98.7 FM, Stoudemire said that he's in great shape and training as if he were returning to the NBA. When asked if it were accurate to say that he is contemplating an NBA comeback, Stoudemire said, "That would be reality." Stoude...   [read more]

James Harden
Warriors fall to Rockets 95-92 in nail-biting Game 4 - 1 day ago
The Golden State Warriors started hot with a 12-0 run in the first few minutes of Game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals, giving the Rockets a scare in the first quarter. But the Rockets played with a desperate, determined edge that made each second of the game nail-biting. James Harden (6'5''-SG-89, college: Arizona St.) led the Rockets to a 94-92 win on the Warriors' home turf, tying the series 2-2. Harden scored 30 points, Chris Paul (6'0''-PG-85, college: Wake Forest) had 27 and...   [read more]
