Larry
Sanders
Defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers released 29-year old forward Larry Sanders (211-107kg-88, college: VCU). But in 5 NBA games he had just 0.8ppg this season. Sanders also played for another team Canton Charge where in four NBA games he recorded 6.0ppg, 8.0rpg and 2.5bpg.
In 2010 he was drafted by Milwaukee Bucks in first round (15th overall). Sanders attended Virginia Commonwealth University and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the CAA Tournament Semifinals in 2008 and 2010. Sanders was also voted All-CAA Defensive Player of the Year back in 2010 at his college time.
Sanders has played also professionally in D-League (Fort Wayne Mad Ants).
On Sanders: (by Jonathan Wasserman for NBADraft.net in 2010)
He crashes the boards and goes for rebounds at the highest point possible thanks to impressive leaping abilities ... Offensively, he is a very reliable finisher around the rim ... His athleticism and quickness allow him to run the floor like a guard and finish like a forward, which will be key for him at the next level when playing with teams who like to push the tempo. He lacks an array of basketball moves in the post, and against bigger and stronger forwards and centers at the next level, he will have difficulty earning position down low
