Josh Smith
New Orleans Pelicans (NBA) released 32-year old forward Josh Smith (206-102kg-85). But in two NBA games he did not score anything.
The last season Smith played at Blue Whales in Chinese CBA where in 26 games he had very impressive stats: 18.8ppg, 10.6rpg, 3.2apg and 2.0bpg.
In 2004 he was drafted by Atlanta Hawks in first round (17th overall). Smith has never attended the college and entered pro basketball just after his high school.
Smith was voted NBA All-Defensive 2nd Team back in 2010.
He has played previously for three other NBA teams: Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons and LA Clippers.
On Smith: Very good shooter, whith great ball handling and dribbling skills; has great timing for shotblocking and is a good defnder on the ball; needs to improve his rebounding skills, has a bright future as an NBA power forward;
Outlook (by NBADraft.TK):
Positives: Freakish athlete. His athleticism at the high school level is extraordinary. Great vertical leap and very fast running the floor. He is a great shotblocker because of his long arms and leaping ability. Decent ball handling skills and could be a potentially great wing player. Jump shot is coming along nicely. He has the potential to become the best player in this draft class.
Negatives: Plays on the wing, but needs to slash to the bucket more. Needs to improve his shooting, but at the highschool level who doesn't. Has gotten a lot stronger, but could use a little more added bulk. Still learning the game

Pacers battle back from slow start but fall 100-97, Cavs even series at 1-1 - 13 hours ago
The situation was dire, requiring playoff dominance. LeBron James (6'8''-SF-84) delivered. No surprise there. Taking matters into his own hands, James scored 46 points and added 12 rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers bounced back from a poor performance in the series opener by holding off the Indiana Pacers 100-97 on Wednesday night to even their Eastern Conference playoff matchup at one game apiece. Dazzling from the start, James scored the game's first 16 points and had 29 at halftime,...   [read more]

Cavaliers' Love suffers partially torn ligament in left thumb - 13 hours ago
The injury bug has once again struck Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love (6'10''-PF-88, college: UCLA) as he sustained a partially torn ligament in his left thumb, according to an ESPN report. But according to the team, Love is not expected to miss any time and will be ready for Friday's Game 3 at the Indiana Pacers. Love missed six weeks earlier this season with a broken left hand. The Cavs' All-Star had 15 points and six rebounds during the Cavaliers' Game 2 victory of the Pacers. C...   [read more]
