Akil
Mitchell
Brooklyn Nets added to their roster 25-year old naturalized Panamanian forward Akil Mitchell (206-106kg-92, college: Virginia). He played last season at Long Island Nets. In four NBA G League games he recorded 8.3ppg, 6.8rpg, 2.8apg and 1.0bpg. Mitchell also played that season for New Zealand Breakers in Australian NBL where in 25 games he averaged 9.5ppg, 7.2rpg (#3 in the league) and 2.2apg.
He has never been drafted by the NBA.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Mitchell's college team won ACC Tournament in 2014. He was also voted ACC All-Defensive Team back in 2014.
Mitchell represented USA at the Centrobasket in Panama City (Panama) last year. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 6 games: 5.0ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.8apg, 1.0spg.
Thanks to Mitchell's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America). Mitchell has played previously professionally in France (Olympique Antibes), NBA (Houston Rockets) and other NBA G League teams (Rio Grande Valley Vipers).
He attended University of Virginia until 2014 and it will be his fourth season as a professional player.

Jokic's big night helps Nuggets hold off Mavericks 105-102 - 9 hours ago
Nikola Jokic (6'10''-C-95, agency: BeoBasket) scored 29 points and grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds, Gary Harris (6'4''-G-94, college: Michigan St.) hit two late free throws and the Denver Nuggets led by as many as 23 points before holding on for a 105-102 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. Harris finished with 25 points and Will Barton added 22 for the Nuggets, who won for just the second time in six games. Davis scores 45, Pelicans beat Celtics 116-113 in OT - 10 hours ago
Anthony Davis (6'10''-C-93, college: Kentucky) and the New Orleans Pelicans eventually were too big for the Boston Celtics. Davis had 45 points and 16 rebounds as he and DeMarcus Cousins (6'11''-C/F-90, college: Kentucky) controlled the lane and led the Pelicans to a 116-113 overtime victory on Tuesday night, ending the Celtics' seven-game winning streak. ''It was a great win for us. They tested us,'' said Davis, who just missed matching the 48 points he scored Sunday during a win in New...   [read more]

Kevin Durant
Durant's 32 leads NBA champions past Cavs - 1 day ago
Once the lead swelled to 14, Kevin Durant (6'9''-SF-88, college: Texas) waved both arms like a boxing referee stopping a fight. Another knockout on the road for these Warriors. Durant scored 32 points, Stephen Curry (6'3''-PG-88, college: Davidson) added 23 and Golden State extended its road winning streak to 13 with a 118-108 Martin Luther King holiday victory Monday night over the Cleveland Cavaliers, their struggling NBA Finals foes.
