Quinn Cook
Atlanta Hawks landed 24-year old point guard Quinn Cook (188-82kg-93, college: Duke). He played most recently at New Orleans Pelicans. In 8 NBA games he averaged 6.5ppg and 1.8apg last season. Cook also played for the Mavericks where in 5 NBA games he was the best scorer with 5.4ppg and recorded and 2.4apg.
He has never been drafted by the NBA.
Among other achievements Cook won NCAA championship title in 2015. He received also HS Washington Post All-Met Player of the Year (the first junior in 30 years to win the award) award back in 2010 at his college time.
Cook represented USA at the World Championships U17 in Hamburg (Germany) seven years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 8 games: 7.5ppg, 3.0rpg, Assists-1 (7.4apg), 1.3spg, FGP: 37.0%, 3PT: 42.3%.
Cook has played previously for two other teams: Cleveland Cavaliers and Canton Charge.
He attended Duke University until 2015 and it will be his third season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Cook's outlook: Has the quickness and athleticism to finish in the lane against bigger opponents ... can finish in the paint with either hand and also has an effective floater.
Solid floor general with the skill set to be one of the top point guards.
Pass-first guard with the ability to break down defenses off the dribble ... creates scoring opportunities for his teammates with excellent court vision and the ability to deliver passes from a variety of angles
A crafty scorer with the quickness and athleticism to finish in the lane against bigger opponents ... can finish in the paint with either hand and also has an effective floater
Has developed into a strong perimeter shooter from beyond the three-point line ... also possesses a nice pull-up jumper off the dribble
Greatly improved on the defensive end.
Has the ability to harass opposing point guards in the full court
A very good rebounder from the point guard position

Paul George
Thunder blast Cavaliers to keep LeBron from milestone - 15 hours ago
LeBron James (6'8''-SF-84) came up just short of 30,000 points. Oklahoma City nearly got there, too. Unable to stop Paul George (6'9''-G/F-90, college: Fresno St.), Russell Westbrook (6'3''-PG-88, college: UCLA) or Carmelo Anthony (6'8''-SF-84, college: Syracuse), the Cavaliers were embarrassed 148-124 on Saturday by the Thunder, who not only rolled to their fourth straight win but kept James shy of a historic milestone. George scored 36 points, Westbrook had 23 and 20 assists and Anthony...   [read more]

Olynyk's late FT helps Heat stun Hornets 106-105 - 15 hours ago
Kelly Olynyk (7'0''-PF-91, college: Gonzaga) scored 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter, including a free throw with 0.2 seconds left, to help the Miami Heat erase a five-point deficit in the final 34 seconds and stun the Charlotte Hornets 106-105 on Saturday night. Wayne Ellington (6'4''-G-87, college: N.Carolina) had 26 points on six 3-pointers, James Johnson (6'9''-F-87, college: Wake Forest) had 22 points and Olynyk was brilliant down the stretch. Hardaway scores 31, Knicks topple Jazz 117-115 - 1 day ago
Tim Hardaway Jr. (6'6''-G-92, college: Michigan) Jr. had his best game Friday night since returning from a leg injury that sidelined him for more than a month. The New York Knicks needed all of it, too. Hardaway scored 31 points as the Knicks rallied for a 117-115 victory over the Utah Jazz. "I think I'm just getting accustomed to everything, getting my feet wet, getting my rhythm back," he said. "It's one game. It felt good. Came here yesterday with some of the guys. Got a lot of shots a...   [read more]
