Sixers agree to summer league deal with Larry Drew II - Jun 12, 2017

Point guard Larry Drew II (6'2''-PG-90, college: UCLA) II will be joining the Philadelphia 76ers for NBA Summer League, according to international basketball reporter David Pick. The 27-year-old Drew joined the Sixers for a 12 game stint during the 2014-15 season after injuries to Michael Carter-Williams (6'6''-G-91, college: Syracuse) and Tony Wroten (6'6''-G-93, college: Washington) left the team in need of a point guard. He averaged 3.8 points and 3.8 assists in 18.3 minutes per game. Instead of signing him to a season long contract after his second 10-day contract expired, the Sixers opted to sign Tim Frazier instead. Ah, the memories. Drew split time between Lithuania, Puerto Rico and the D-League last season. He played particularly well during his run with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 8.1 points and 5.9 assists while shooting 47.7 percent from the field. Furthermore, reports have emerged in China about the possibility of 23-year-old guard Ailun Guo (6'4''-SF-93) also joining the Sixers for summer league. Ailun has spent his entire 6-year pro career with the Liaoning Flying Leopards. He averaged nearly 20 points per game last season, and shot 52.1 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from three. In May he became the first ever Chinese basketball player to be signed to Jordan Brand. The Sixers will be playing in both Utah and Las Vegas Summer League this year.

Lakers find the right energy in the second half to beat the Bulls 103-94 - 22 hours ago
The Lakers have improved dramatically on defense this season. But what happened through the first half Tuesday night was indefensible. They fell behind by 19 points to one of the NBA's worst teams, the three-win Chicago Bulls, and were on track for an embarrassing loss before a dispirited Staples Center crowd. Then, as they have on several impressive occasions this season, the youthful Lakers sprung to life. They clawed their way back, found their rhythm and range, and rallied for a 103-9...   [read more]
Can The Orlando Magic Keep up Their Electrifying Start? - 2 days ago
The start to this NBA season has had plenty of talking points. While many people have been talking about the start made by the Boston Celtics, or the poor start made by the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Orlando Magic have also been praised for the way they have played. The Magic are performing way better than most anticipated and they are putting themselves in the shop window, many are beginning to take note. Those who have been watching the Magic have been heaping praise on their team leader...   [read more]
