Orlando Magic strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old Argentinian international swingman Patricio Garino (198-94kg-93, college: G.Washington). He played recently at Austin Spurs. In 49 D-League games he recorded 11.2ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.1apg and 1.5spg this season. Garino was called during the season by the San Antonio Spurs.
He has never been drafted by the NBA.
Among other achievements Garino won NIT championship title in 2016. He received also Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team award in 2014, 2015 and 2016 at his college time.
Garino has been also a member of Argentinian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Argentinian senior team since 2015 and previously for U19 National Team back in 2011.
Garino also represented Argentina at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) last year. His stats at that event were 5 games: 6.0ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.2spg, FGP: 58.3%, 3PT: 44.4%, FT: 80.0%.
Garino has played also professionally for other Argentinian teams like Quilmes Mar del Plata and Lanus.
He attended George Washington University until 2016 and it is his first season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A very promising swingman, who is yet a role model for technique, but has also personality and leadership unexpected for a guy so young Plus, he plays with energy and aggressiveness every moment he's on the court. He could be the next Aregentinean NBAer.
