Houston Rockets agree terms with 22-year old Isaiah Canaan (6'1''-PG-91, agency: Priority Sports) for the next season. He played last time at Murray State University in OVC. Canaan just graduated from Murray State University (NCAA). In 31 games he had very impressive stats: 21.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 4.3apg and 1.5spg last season. He helped them to win the OVC Regular Season West Division title. Quite impressive season as he was voted All-OVC Co-Player of the Year, named to All-OVC 1st Team and named to NABC Division I All-District 19 1st Team. In 2011-2012 for Murray St. (NCAA, starting five) he showed 19.0ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.6apg, 1.4spg, FGP: 48.1%, 3PT: 45.6%, FT: 83.7%. Earlier in 2010-2011 his stats read 11.7ppg, 1.9rpg, 2.4apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 41.6%, 3PT: 40.3%, FT: 74.4%. In his first season for Murray St. Isaiah Canaan averaged 10.4ppg, 2.3rpg, 1.6apg, FGP: 49.8%, 3PT: 48.2%, FT: 77.8%.
As mentioned above he is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro. Canaan was voted All-OVC Player of the Year in 2012 at his college time.
