Philadelphia 76ers released 23-year old guard Shelvin Mack (190-94kg-90, college: Butler). But in three NBA games he played this season he had just 0.7ppg. Mack also played at Maine Red Claws earlier that season. In 14 D-League games this year he recorded very impressive stats: 20.5ppg, 4.9rpg, 8.0apg and 1.4spg. The other team he played shortly were the Wizards. In 7 NBA games he recorded 5.3ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.3apg.
Two years ago Mack was drafted by Washington Wizards in second round (34th overall). He attended Butler University until 2011 and it is his second season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as Macks college team won Horizon League Tournament for two years in a row (2010 and 2011). He was also voted NABC Division I All-District 12 2nd Team in 2011. Mack represented USA at the World Championships U19 in New Zealand four years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 9 games: 5.9ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.9apg, FGP: 35.2%, 3PT: 48.1%, FT: 22.2%.
Mack could be described: (by Aran Smith for NBADraft.net in 2011)
Instant offense type of shooter/scorer at the lead guard position. Very composed. Always on balance, never seems to rush things. Good pace to his game. Plays smart, values the basketball. Aggressive scorer with a crafty offensive game. Really knows how to create shots and has a strong one on one game. Good shot selection. Solid athlete though nothing extraordinary. Lacks tremendous leaping ability. Lacks great blow by speed off the dribble

Sixers expected to waive Tibor Pleiss after trade with Jazz - 2 days ago

On Friday, the Jazz traded German center Tibor Pleiss (7'2''-C-89) to the Sixers along with two second-round picks for Kendall Marshall(6'5''-PG-91, college: N.Carolina). The big draw of the trade for Philly was the picks, and Pleiss is not expected to stay with the Sixers, according to Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia's Jessica Camerato. Pleiss had a forgettable season with Utah, and the Sixers have a glut of bigs including Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid and Dario Saric. It would...   [read more]

Jazz Trade Tibor Pleiss To 76ers For Kendall Marshall In Salary Dump - 3 days ago

The Philadelphia 76ers have traded Kendall Marshall (6'5''-PG-91, college: N.Carolina) to the Utah Jazz for Tibor Pleiss(7'2''-C-89), two second round picks and cash. The Jazz plan to waive Marshall before his $2 million contract becomes guaranteed. The 76ers will absorb the $3 million guaranteed to Pleiss for 2016-17 and the $500,000 guaranteed on the $3.1 million in 2017-18. Marshall will find it difficult to find a guaranteed spot for training camp with another team due to being waived...   [read more]
