T-Wolves to visit the Pentagon? - May 18, 2012

T-Wolves to visit the Pentagon?

Not exactly.

Sioux Falls based Sanford Health has started construction of the Sanford Pentagon (http://sanfordpentagon.com), a 160,000-square-foot facility that includes nine basketball courts.

Sanford already has existing sponsorships with the Sioux Falls Skyforce and the Minnesota Timberwolves, a relationship that was made public during the 2010 MLB playoffs, when Sanford signage became a right field fixture (from the wall of the Target Center).

As some NBA teams have conducted training camps as far away as Istanbul, Turkey, don't be surprised to see the T-Wolves visit the Sanford Pentagon.

Barnes, Matthews power Mavericks past Bulls 107-82 - 13 hours ago

Wesley Matthews (6'5''-G-86, college: Marquette) has taken greater responsibility with Dirk Nowitzki out of the Dallas Mavericks' lineup much of this season. Matthews scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half of Dallas' 107-82 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night. ''Matthews was the star of the game, obviously,'' Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said. ''He is our leader right now with Dirk out. He really sets the tone for us in the locker room and on the floor. He is just the...   [read more]

Toronto Raptors with 6th straight, hammer Hawks 128-84 - 13 hours ago

DeMar DeRozan (6'7''-F/G-89, college: USC) had 21 points, one of eight Toronto Raptors who scored in double digits, as Toronto roared to a 128-84 rout of the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, their largest margin of victory in franchise history. The victory stretched the Raptors' win streak to six games, and propelled them to the top of the Eastern Conference standings in a tie with Cleveland. Kyle Lowry (6'0''-PG-86, college: Villanova) and Patrick Patterson (6'9''-F-89, college: Kentucky) had...   [read more]

Depleted Lakers miss late opportunities in loss to Grizzlies, 103-100 - 13 hours ago

The Lakers closed out a bruising road trip with a dramatic loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, 103-100. After a Memphis turnover in the waning seconds of the game, Julius Randle (6'9''-F-94, college: Kentucky) was fouled shooting a three-pointer with the Lakers down by three and 5.9 seconds left. Randle missed all three free throws. He rebounded the third miss, and gave the ball to Jordan Clarkson for one last heave, but Clarkson's attempt fell short. It capped a frantic final minute during wh...   [read more]
