Jeff
Newberry
We sit down to talk to Jeff Newberry (6'2''-G-92, college: Oklahoma St.):
Eurobasket.- To somebody who hasn't seen you play before, how would you describe your game to them?
1. I don't really like to describe my game. I leave that up to others. In the past most have labeled it as really gritty and athletic, tough and flashy at times.

Eurobasket.- Do you model your game after anybody?
2. I try to model my game after my favorite player. Russell Westbrook.

Eurobasket.- Talk a little bit about this past season at Grand Rapids and G-League. What can you tell us about your experience in the League?
3. This past season in Grand Rapid was a very eye opening one. It showed me what it really meant to stay in the gym. Getting to learn from guys like Kevin Murphy and Jordan Crawford was a blessing in itself. It will help me elevate my career moving forward.

Eurobasket.- What's been the biggest moment of your career so far?
4. The biggest moment of my career so far was probably my breakout game against the 76ers D League organization because I was on the court with a lot of big name players, and I stood out that game and made a very big impact.

Eurobasket.- If you could go back and give advice to a ninth grade Jeff Newberry what would you say?
5. I would tell the 9th grade Jeff Newberry to do things exactly the way you did it before. Because it made you the man you are today.

Eurobasket.-Did you think about play overseas?
6. Yes I thought about it a lot, thought of what it would have been like if I went down that path. I still think on it at this very moment.

Eurobasket.- Where do you see yourself five years from now?
7. 5 years from now I see myself living comfortably and if God willing, still playing the game that I love!

Red Claws hang on for 111-108 victory - 3 days ago
After squandering double-digit leads in each of their previous three games, the Maine Red Claws finally held on to win their first G League basketball game of 2018. Barely. Guerschon Yabusele (6'7''-PF-95) scored 32 points Monday night as the Red Claws beat the Austin Spurs 111-108 before a crowd of 1,658 at the Portland Expo. The victory, in a game twice postponed by weather that prevented the Spurs (15-12) from traveling to Portland earlier this month, snapped a three-game losing streak...   [read more]
