The North American Basketball League continues to expand and in 2018 will have a Northeast Division for the first time in league history! This New Division will comprise of the Washington Warhawks, Jamestown Jackals, Dubois Dream and Chautauqua Hurricanes which are in the states of New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. These teams match perfectly with the mission and vision of the NABL. The NABL aim to bring teams into the league that are the utmost professional and has plans to become the best Minor League teams in the country.

Commissioner C. Travis Johnson said, "This has definitely changed the game in Minor League Basketball, because we have the most quality teams in the nation all in one league and now the league covers from Texas to Florida and from the Midwest all the way to New York and Pennsylvania".

The NABL now as four divisions and is for the first time a true national league. The Championship Series is truly going to be "Minor League Basketball Biggest's Stage" and the winner will be a credible National Champion! This is exciting for Minor League Basketball to have a group of quality owners that have come together to take Minor League Basketball to the next level.

The Northeast Division will be in a unique position for 2018. This Northeast division will start playing 3 months earlier than all the other divisions, however the winner of the division will get a spot in the 2018 NABL Championship Series where four teams will compete for the National Championship. In 2019, the Northeast Division will fall into normal season play and will begin the same time as all other divisions.
