The Gulf Coast Wizards were going to play this season but due to unfortunate circumstances regarding venue availability in their area, they will be unable to fulfill their obligations within the NABL. Both the team and the owners have discussed and agreed upon the future of the franchise within the league. 'We are happy that the NABL will continue to work with us to build a great franchise in our area' said CEO Leroy Williams. 'The ownership of the NABL has been very helpful and accommodating to the needs of our organization but also respect and understand that this is a business and that the other teams need to move forward to have a productive season'. Its owners like this in the industry which are compromising and respectable. The NABL worked hard to assist with the Mississippi team but was unable to solidify some things with the venue so they made the decision to forgo their 2016 season and begin preparation for the 2017 season. 'We look forward to the Wizards joining us in 2017 as well as other teams which have found interest in the league due to our standards and keeping the integrity of the game' said Co-Owner NABL Benjamin Mireles. 'Its not everyday you find an owner like Leroy who is understanding of our situation as a league and we will be happy to work with his team throughout this season and after to make sure he is ready for next season'. So just prepare as Mississippi will be back in 2017.
