The Florida Spartans are looking to be a feeder team to the D-League within time and have been continuing to look to focus on training and development for young athletes. The team is looking to play at the RDV Sportsplex this upcoming season while possibly working out at several Orlando Magic rec facilities or just looking to have all the athletes workout at the RDV Center. "I created this team with the understanding that minor-league professional basketball has gotten away from the development process and just focus on playing games" said CEO /Head Coach Benjamin Mireles. "Its up to someone to step up and eventually our player will be looking to get an opportunity at the next level but most players either go to a lower level league internationally because they are afraid of how much more sacrifice there is in the D-League but that is our primary location which we are preparing our players for". The Spartans take a lot of pride in its organization while discipline and strong structure are what the team puts in front of players and is one of the most honest organizations around at this level of basketball. Most teams think they are professional because they have a uniform and play some games but the real professionalism is what these players can do off the floor as well as getting lots of film work, independent and group training through financial management, communication and much more which these players must know about before becoming a professional. "Our team will only look for players who are looking to excel instead of being content with playing for us" said Mireles. "These players understand one thing, we are here to train, develop and get them out of here so players must understand the sacrifice that goes along with the scheduling, working, getting in the gym to workout, and getting on the floor to get their basketball work in. The team is looking to continue to workout at Goldenrod Orlando Magic Center, Silver Star Magic Center, They have looked into the Kissimmee location as well but this season, they may end up playing their games at the RDV Sports Plex and working out there as well but are currently working on a deal to lock in dates for their upcoming 2016 season and also looking into getting their players to workout there as well as play their games. "We know its a work in process when it comes to generating attention for the team but we do know that our main goal has always been to help true athletes get the opportunity to train hard to get into the D-League and that is going to be our focus as a team not just playing the games". The team is hopeful that the Magic are able to bring a team close to home as they will look reach out to them about possible players to look into. The team will have players from College through international experienced players come into the team focused on the training and development program which the Spartans are currently one of the only teams to put into place. So we are look forward to seeing some development within Central Florida soon.
