The Central Basketball Development League has announced that it is currently in discussions with Sara Seed to become President of the Central CBDL which will overlook day to day operations of the league. This would allow CEO Ben Mireles to step out from day to day duties of the league and focus more on his family and his team in Florida. "I feel that the league is very disciplined and that Ms Seed brings plenty of credentials with her to keep this league strong and moving forward" said Mireles. She was a Promotions, Marketing, Public Relations Specialist for the MPBA and the Assistant General Manager of the Champaign Swarm this past season which also assisted in having 15 of the leagues players sent to a higher level of international play. She would bring solid experience with event planning, player personnel and community awareness. Her professional background includes owning her own promotions company for over 10 years and has been a professional motivational speaker for over 28 years. She also has been a media spokesperson which delivered information and representation (TV, radio, and print) regarding business objectives, community issues and events on behalf of clients. Experienced in sports radio commentary and play by play action. "I believe that Sara could take the CBDL to the next level and brings plenty of professional experience for what we need here" said CEO Benjamin Mireles. "This would allow me to step back from league duties and focus more on my family and my team while bringing more stability with a uniformed and more stable presence within our corporate structure".
Ms Seed is a multi-faceted professional who is experienced in public relations, promotions, entrepreneurship ventures, and event planning. Experienced in bid preparation, corporate fundraising, and coordination of cross-functional programs. Proactive management style demonstrated through customer-focused decision making. Interacts well with people at all levels to establish collaborative and positive work environments, mobilize resources, and empowers colleagues to achieve success. Equipped with a broad network of educational, media, and industry contacts. Sara Seed was also an organizer which chaired over 20 sporting and special event committees throughout each year, presenting monthly reports to the Board of Directors. just a few other things on her list of credentials would be:
Volunteers Organizer - Worked with different local organizations in setting up volunteers needed to assist with event management.
Strategist - Prepared bid proposals in conjunction with the University of Illinois that resulted in a five-year IHSA state football and wrestling event contract for 2001-2005 with an estimated economic impact of $500K-$1M.
Fundraiser - Arranged $15K-$30K in sponsorship funding for each annual IHSA state tournament.
Coordinator-In conjunction with IHSA and the University of Illinois, coordinated IHSA State Football&Wrestling Championships.

Assisted in all aspects of planning, promoting and conducting day to day operations with the Champaign Swarm.
Responsible for game day operations and promotions.
Responsible in coordinating and overseeing Swarm staff, interns, and other associates assigned to assist the MPBA and the Champaign Swarm.
Created awareness and a positive atmosphere throughout the community when promoting the Champaign Swarm and the MPBA.
Responsible for obtaining game day entertainment, using local and area schools and teams.
Coordinated local and area youth basketball teams to compete during half-time of Swarm games, thus giving them exposure and a chance to meet and watch professional basketball.
Incorporated learning situations for developing players off the court: Face to face interactions with fans and sponsors; how to act in a social setting in addressing children and fans requesting their time, attention and other fan related aspects; time management skills and responsibilities; how to dress in public when representing the Swarm organization; incorporated situations where players had to donate their time and skills to others less fortunate.
Coordinated post game autograph photo sessions with players and fans.
Worked with the hosting venue, Parkland College and its staff on all aspects of Swarm related issues and game day operations.
Responsible in acquiring local eating establishments to donate weekly meals during the 3 month season in exchange for player appearances and autograph sessions.
Authorized, coordinated, and implemented game day and time-out promotions.
Served as local address announcer during games for promotions, introductions, and announcements throughout the games.
Coordinated player appearances on local media TV programs.
Established player appearances/autograph sessions throughout the community.
Assisted in obtaining practice facilities for the team, using local youth and community gymnasiums.
Established and coordinated meetings, luncheons and functions for potential MPBA and Champaign Swarm investors.
Dealt with and maintained a positive, working relationship with MPBA /Swarm investors, team owners and other MPBA personnel.
Worked closely with the Champaign Swarm Media Relations Director in providing pertinent information in promoting the team and its players.
Wrote, submitted, and received a grant from the Niemann Foods Foundation which provided funding for local youth to attend summer basketball camps put on by the MPBA and the Champaign Swarm.
Responsible for all aspects of the University of Illinois intern in making sure class and graduation requirements were met and secured.
The CEO Ben Mireles will be meeting with Ms Seed in Orlando, Florida during the first week of January to discuss opportunity. "The league will not change its structure and Ms. Seed can bring some additions to the platform in which we already have in place.
