Mississippi looks to become another location for a team/teams to be placed in the state. The team has contacted the league in regards to getting the information for the league and membership requirements for the team to compete this upcoming season. "Once again we are growing in new areas as the teams are looking to better the quality and provide a more professional direction of this industry for its players" said CEO Benjamin Mireles. "This will be a great addition to our CBDL family and look to become of the premier leagues in the Southeast". Right now the CBDL is structured strictly in the Southeast with teams joining in areas like Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida. While other teams in Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, and South Carolina continue to be interested in placing a team in the CBDL, the league looks to expand to a maximum number of teams (30) across the US. It does not want to have to many teams and have one fail to uphold the standards of professional basketball so it will only look for solid teams looking to fulfill their schedule and bring a new direction and change to minor-league industry to help these players get recognized.
