Brent Schuck
September 28, 2016

ST. LOUIS - Brent Schuck (6'8''-F-90, college: Emporia St.) is the latest player from the Midwest Professional Basketball Association to land overseas. Schuck is playing with Saarlouis in Germany after spending the 2016 season with the Gateway Steam.

The 6'8' forward/center from Emporia State averaged 6.3 points per game over 13 games for the Steam, shooting 44% from the field and 46% from three-point range. Schuck's best game came against the Windy City Groove on February 6, 2016, when he scored 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range.

In two games already with Saarlouis, Schuck is averaging 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game.

"I want to thank the MPBA for including me last season," said Schuck. "It's a high-quality league that keeps guys primed to compete overseas. The film and stats, along with the overall high level of play, were important components in receiving job offers for this season. My gratitude goes out to the league for the enjoyable, professional experience."

Schuck is the ninth Steam player to advance from the MPBA since the team began play in January 2015. And with the addition of the Champaign Swarm's Michael Rogers playing in Mexico and Adrien Coleman (6'6''-F-91, college: Beth.-Cookman) playing in Australia, Schuck becomes the 56th signing overseas or with the NBA D-League since the MPBA began play 20 months ago.

January 9, 2017 ST. MPBA cancels Nov 20 combine - 11 months ago
The Midwest Professional Basketball Association 2017 player combine, scheduled for November 20 in suburban Chicago, has been canceled. 'We didn't have enough players sign up that we thought would be able to go overseas,' said Ed Schumer , commissioner and chief executive officer of the MPBA. 'We don't want to just take money from kids, knowing they didn't have a chance to move up. It's not fair to them. Our combine process is not designed to just be a revenue stream for us.'
