Ellison
The Cedar Valley CourtKings have added Wakefield Ellison (6'6''-F, college: Winston Salem) to their team. After the tragic death of starting point guard Rashad Carrington just over 2 weeks ago the CourtKings felt they needed to bring in another player and 6 6 Ellison got the call.
Wakefield Ellison (6'6''-F, college: Winston Salem) is from Ashville, NC and started his college basketball career at East Carolina. After two years there he transferred to Winston-Salem State and had a good finish to his college playing days there.
'Wake is a guy who can play inside and out. He is a good 3 point shooter and can also score off the dribble and by taking it to the basket', stated CourtKings Owner/GM Gary Rima. 'In his first two games with us he has show us a lot and I think will just get better and better the more he plays for Coach Hughes and gets to know his teammates even better!'
Ellison had his best game to date in the CourtKings Sunday May 22nd win over the Wisconsin Storm 104-76. He got his first career start as a CourtKing and poured in 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
You can watch highlights of Ellison from last weeks game by going to You Tube and can also see the game in its entirety by going to You Tube and searching for CourtKings basketball.
The Cedar Valley CourtKings play at St. Paul, Mn this Saturday at 1:00pm against the Minnesota Rangers. Both teams are 2-2 in the MBL West. You can see Wakefield and the rest of the CourtKings back in action at home on Saturday night June 4th at 7:30pm when they play back in the Cedar Valley SportsPlex, 300 Jefferson St, Waterloo.

Fury use balanced attack to rout Rangers in Chicago - 9 days ago
The Minnesota Rangers headed into Chicago on Saturday to do battle against a well balanced Fury team who has been staggering teams with its defense as of late. Both of these teams have been playing some good basketball but the only team Chicago wanted to be talked about was them as they jumped all over Minnesota early leading 37-16 to end the first period. Despite the Rangers slow start big Dominique Dawson (6'8''-C/F-91, college: Ky Wesleyan) and Latrell Love (6'5''-PF-93, college: Miss....   [read more]

Records Are Made To Be Broken - 19 days ago
Joe Thomasson(6'4''-G-93, college:Wright St.)Thomasson (#1 M.V.P. Candidate) made it a point to get everyone involved. Thomasson who is averaging 30.2 pts. per game (3rd in the league). Had a stellar all around performance against the Indiana Dream. Mr Do it All on top of scoring 27 pts. added 15 rebs. and set up his teammates time and time again dishing out 19 ast. to break the all time league record previously (16) set by Chris McHenry in the first season of the league in 2016.. Thomasson and McGee put on a show in Ohio - 20 days ago
The Kentucky Flash rolled into Dayton on Saturday night with one thing on their mind and that was to give the Airstrikers another loss at home like they did earlier in the season. But however Mr Joe Thomasson (6'4''-G-93, college: Wright St.) was not trying to have that as he put on a typical Joe type performance by setting the pace for his team as they went up by 14 leaving the Flash a little puzzled. Just as the Airstrikers were starting to cruise Patrick McGee(6'4''-G-87) (Flash) had d...   [read more]
