A.C. Green
Former NBA All-Star and Portland native A.C. Green (6'9''-F-63, college: Oregon St.) will enter his own team in the Portland Pro-Am this summer.

The Benson High School product and Oregon State Alum wants to assist in facilitating the development of a new generation of athletes coming out of Portland.

"It is the right thing to do and return to Portland with a team in the Portland Pro-Am," The former Laker shared. "Terrence is starting something that was missing from the City of Portland and I want to be a part of it. It is great to see these young guys stepping up."

The 2003 Oregon Sports Hall of Fame inductee joins Terrence Jones (6'9''-F-92, college: Kentucky), Terrence Ross (6'7''-G-91, college: Washington), Mike James (6'1''-PG-90, college: Lamar) from the Euroleague and the Vancouver Volcanoes from the IBL as five of the six teams that have been announced with one more expected to be revealed shortly.

"We are fortunate to have A.C. Green involved in bringing a Pro-Am back to Portland. He brings a lot of experience and has a lot to contribute. His involvement is key because he shares our vision for building the community through basketball," Commissioner Noah Kone shared.

The 16-year NBA veteran and now NBA Development League broadcaster is hosting his annual Leadership Camp at Benson High School June 22-26 and will continue to be a part of community initiatives that give resources to young athletes through the A.C. Green Foundation.

Launching in the summer of 2015, the new Portland Pro-Am will provide an opportunity for the community, players and fans to enjoy Pro Basketball up close and personal. As a hybrid model mixing minor league basketball with an enhanced pro am model, the Portland Pro-Am is a part of the International Basketball Leagues. The IBL will continue to place players and officials overseas and in the NBA Development League. Competition will be in July and August at Multnomah University following NBA rules, fans will see NBA talent, overseas and college players who have completed their eligibility. Teams will be lead by experienced coaches and high level officials will manage the games. The Portland Pro-Am will feature competitive basketball games where fans can interact with players get autographs and photos.
