Michael Parker (6'8''-F-81, college: Evergreen St.), a former leading scorer for the Bellingham Slam and an International Basketball League all-star, has parlayed his experiences in Americas minor league circuit into a successful career overseas.
After a stellar career as an all-conference forward at Evergreen State College, Parker helped lead Bellingham in their first two seasons in the American Basketball Association, averaging 30.2 points per game on 54 percent field goal shooting during the 2006-07 campaign. Parker still holds Bellinghams team record for most point scored in a game with 51 and is the only Slam player in team history to finish a season with a scoring average over 30 points.
After finishing the 2006-07 ABA season with the Slam, Parker joined the Portland Chinooks for the 2007 IBL season and helped lead them to a 21-6 record and a berth in the league championship game with a 21.1 points per game scoring average.
Parker was selected to both the ABA and IBL all-star squads in 2007.
After originally earning a roster spot on the Slam through an outstanding performance at an open tryout prior to the teams inaugural season in 2005, his success in the ABA and later the IBL helped earn him a contract in Japans BJ League, where he has been a star ever since. Parker played four seasons with the Fukuoka Rizing, leading the league in scoring the last three years by averaging no less than 26 per game. Defensively, Parker has averaged over ten rebounds per game and has led the league in steals every season.
Parker was also selected to play in the 2010 BJ League All-Star Game, where he came away with Most Valuable Player honors.
This season, Parker continues to dominate the BJ League, but now as a member of the Shimane Magic, where he has been tasked with helping turn around a team that finished 24-26 last season and was swept in the first round of the playoffs by Parkers own Fukuoka squad. Through the first 16 games, Parker is again among the leagues scoring leaders with a 23.1 points per game average. He has also managed to keep alive an impressive points streak that has seen him score in double figures in every game since 2008 a streak that has now reached 173 games.

Slam finishes Seattle Pro-Am regular season with first-ever OT win - 10 months ago
The Bellingham Slam received a late game-tying put-back from center Austin Bragg (6'9''-F/C-91, college: W.Washington), then pulled away in overtime as they defeated Team Worldwide in a Seattle Pro-Am thriller, 110-103, at Royal Brougham Pavilion on Saturday. Remarkably, it was the first time the Slam had posted an overtime victory in team history, having gone 0-for-5 in previous games which required extra time. Thanks to hot outside shooting from forward Jordan Hamilton (6'7''-F-90, coll...   [read more]

Ex-Vikings power Bellingham Slam rout of Kitsap - 11 months ago
The Bellingham Slam received contributions from a number of former Western Washington University players as they routed the Kitsap Admirals, 110-89, in Seattle Pro-Am action at Royal Brougham Pavilion on Saturday. Led by guard Taylor Stafford (6'1''-G-94, college: W.Washington) who tallied a game-high 38 points, seven ex-Vikings scored the Slam and accounted for over two-thirds of Bellingham's total offensive production. Stafford dazzled the crowd with perhaps the best shooting performanc...   [read more]

Former Lynden Christian standout Paul Hafford (6'5''-G/F-84, college: Portland St.) has added another successful chapter to his basketball career.
