Shamar Coombs (6'1"-G-86, college: Texas A&M-CC) and Toronto 3D made their IBA debut this past weekend, dropping a pair of games to the first place Schenectady Legends in upstate New York. Although not the team results they were looking for Coombs made his mark on the first IBA Can-Am Clash, scoring 35 and 41 points over two games to lead all scorers.

For his individual efforts, Coombs is the Week 11 Arena Sports Net IBA Player of the Week.

Coombs began his road to professional basketball at Toronto Prep School. After a stellar prep career the 6'1" guard was noticed while playing AAU ball. He first moved south to the United States to play two years (2006-08) at Tallahassee Community College, a transition which proved tougher off the court (climate) than on (averaged 15.2 ppg).

A scholarship to NCAA Division I Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2008-10) playing under head coach Perry Clark was the next stop for Coombs, helping the Islanders to a 35-30 record over two seasons.

His pro career started in Texas, playing with the Dallas Impact of the ABA. Coombs spent the 2013-14 season in Kosovo, averaging over 22 ppg to lead KB Drita Gjilan to a fifth place finish in the SuperLeague before returning home to Toronto.

The St.Louis Trotters brought home the Spring IBA Championship last weekend. In the semi-finals the Trotters took on the #1 seed and undefeated Kenosha Ballers (10-0). The Trotters came away with a close victory 89 to 86 on the Ballers home court as they hosted the playoffs. Kenosha Ballers keep the perfect record in 2017 spring season - 1 month ago
Kenosha Ballers keep the perfect record in 2017 season as they improved to an 8-0 record. In the top game of the round they beat Milwaukee Falcons 115-102. Milwaukee Falcons is second with a 5-2 record. Memphis Blues and Windy city Blazers have the same 4-3 records to share the third place. Memphis Blues overcame Peoria Panthers 125-100. Windy city Blazers meanwhile lost to Milwaukee Falcons 110-120.   [read more]

Kenosha Ballers Repeat As IBA Champion - 6 months ago
Two-time champion. The Kenosha Ballers won their second-straight Independent Basketball Association title today by defeating expansion team Milwaukee Falcons in Kenosha. Milwaukee entered the league playoffs as the top seed. They easily defeated the Illinois Hoopville Warriors in the semifinal 115-91 on Saturday.
