The Legends are proud to announce today that Scott Knapp (6'3''-G-78, college: Siena) 'has been named the head coach of the Schenectady Legends for the 2014 winter season.
Local college sports fans will recall that Scott Knapp, '01 Siena college is the school's all-time leader in three-point field goals with 293. He is also the program's all-time leader in free-throw percentage (89.6%) and is an impressive ninth on the scoring charts with 1,381 career points. Scott is the only Siena player to earn MAAC Rookie of the Year honors (1998) after averaging 12.3 points and shooting 90% from the free throw line as a freshman. He was twice named to the MAAC Tournament Team (1998, 1999) and was a Preseason and Postseason Second Team All-Conference pick as a senior (2001). Knapp helped Siena advance to its first NCAA Tournament in a decade in 1999 and to the Postseason NIT in 2000.
After graduating from Siena, Knapp played one season of professional basketball for the Rockford (Ill.) Lightning in 2001-2002, CBA, where he was an All-Rookie Team Honorable Mention selection. The Legends are proud to have Scott returning to the professional hard wood now as Head Coach for the 2014 Season. His leadership abilities, knowledge of the game, competitive and community minded spirit are exactly the characteristics the Legends expect to bring an IBA championship to our home town, Schenectady!

This year's season begins on the road Friday, Nov 1 2014 against the Binghamton Pioneers. While the Legend's wait for a permanent home in Schenectady for the 2015 season, the 2014 Legends will play a series of home games in and around Schenectady County and the Mo-hawk Valley to benefit local sports, school and youth programs. The goal is to raise over $7500 for these programs. The official home schedule will be available by September 15 and will include home stops in Gloversville, Schenectady, Amsterdam, Scotia and others!

St Louis Trotters take IBA Championship - 5 months ago
The St.Louis Trotters brought home the Spring IBA Championship last weekend. In the semi-finals the Trotters took on the #1 seed and undefeated Kenosha Ballers (10-0). The Trotters came away with a close victory 89 to 86 on the Ballers home court as they hosted the playoffs. Kenosha Ballers keep the perfect record in 2017 season as they improved to an 8-0 record. In the top game of the round they beat Milwaukee Falcons 115-102. Milwaukee Falcons is second with a 5-2 record. Memphis Blues and Windy city Blazers have the same 4-3 records to share the third place. Memphis Blues overcame Peoria Panthers 125-100. Windy city Blazers meanwhile lost to Milwaukee Falcons 110-120.   [read more]

Kenosha Ballers Repeat As IBA Champion - 11 months ago
Two-time champion. The Kenosha Ballers won their second-straight Independent Basketball Association title today by defeating expansion team Milwaukee Falcons in Kenosha. Milwaukee entered the league playoffs as the top seed. They easily defeated the Illinois Hoopville Warriors in the semifinal 115-91 on Saturday.
