The Florida Flight took to the road to begin the regular season of the Florida Basketball Association (FBA), squaring off against the Space Coast Stars. The Stars, owned by former Flight player Corey Williams, were playing their first-ever FBA game. The visitors from Orlando took a quick lead and never looked back, as the Flight bested the Stars 118-97. It was a complete team effort for the Flight (1-0), as six players posted double-digit scoring efforts. They were led by Vincent Dillard (6'5''-G/F-92, college: Charleston Un.) with 31. He was followed by Garvin Gordon (6'7''-F-78, college: Hartford) with 16, Kasey Wilson (6'7''-F) with 15, Greg St. Remy with 14, Mike Floyd with 11, and Isaac Lang with 10. Dillard also pulled down 14 rebounds. The somewhat-undermanned Stars, missing two key players, were led by Ellis Young, who scored 32 of his game-high 39 points in the second half. 'We're very proud of Corey and his accomplishments thus far as a new team owner,' said Flight Owner and Coach Mark King. 'But it was our objective to go there and get the win, and it feels great to start the season on a positive note. I do know that a rematch is just around the corner next month at the Amway Center, and you can bet Corey will have them ready to go.' The Flight were able to substitute liberally, opening up a 55-43 halftime lead before putting the game away in the third quarter, outscoring the stars 37-24 to take a 92-67 lead into the final stanza.

Jacksonville's Southeast Royals to join FBA for 2017 - 3 months ago
The Florida Basketball Association (FBA) will add the Southeast Royals out of Jacksonville, Florida for the upcoming 2017 season.
