On a night that began with another exceptional performance of the national anthem by Lizy Barnes, and featured the Freedom High School Dance Squad providing some additional support during the game, the Tampa Bay Rebels picked up their fourth straight win with a victory against the Florida Flight on Saturday. The win capped a busy, but exciting week for the Rebels, who had spent the week strengthening their relationship with the Tampa Bay community and local businesses. Early in the week, the Rebels volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County, and just a few days later, they announced Vista Inn & Suites as their Official Lodging Partner. The team also made a minor basketball-related change by moving practices to the New Tampa YMCA.

Although the Flight returned to Tampa with an improved roster, the Rebels were able to set the tone early. The game started with an ally-oop from point guard Jonathan Brown to Matt Kendrick (6'11''-C-90, college: St.Leo), who also set a new team record with 10 blocks in addition to scoring 21 points. Aubrey West had an outstanding third quarter on both ends of the floor, drawing a charge on the defensive end while scoring 8 points during the period. Forward Shun Watson provided the dunk of the game as he caught a long baseline pass and finished the play with a thunderous one hand slam as the Rebels prevailed 118-74.

The Rebels return to action this Saturday as they welcome the Palm Beach Titans. The game will be played at Freedom High School and will tip-off at 8pm. Please visit www.tampabayrebels.com for additional information.
