The GBE will feature the following list of speakers at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on July 7-9th, 2009

Herb Brown
The current assistant coach for the Charlotte Bobcats who won a NBA Championship along side his brother Larry Brown in 2004 with the Detroit Pistons brings 40 years of experience to the GBE. Herb has extensive international experience after coaching in the ACB in Spain for six years in the 1990’s and has lead Team USA to gold in the Maccabi Games. Herb is the former head coach of the Detroit Pistons 1975-77 and has served as a NBA assistant for Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trailblazers, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Phoenix Suns, and the Atlanta Hawks. Herb was named “CBA Coach of the Year in the 83-84 season and was the WBA Coach of the Year in 1978. Herb offers the global basketball community an excellent insight of the growth of the international game and its different philosophies compared to the NBA and college game in the United States. Herb will be one of our featured speakers at the GBE in the International Coaching Seminar.

Sharon Drucker
The current assistant coach with the Euroleague giants Maccabi Tel Aviv is one of the brightest upcoming coaches in the European game. In 2004 as the Head Coach of Hapeol Jerusalem his team won the ULEB Cup which is the second most prominent Cup competition in European basketball. Sharon has been the head coach of some of the prestigious clubs in European basketball including Ural Great of Russia, Oostend of Belgium and Lietuvos Rytas of Lithuania. He has also served as the Head Coach of the Israel U20 national Team and has been named Eurobasket Coach of the Year in Israel. Sharon will bring a lot of knowledge of top-level European basketball to the GBE.

Guillermo Vecchio
The current head coach of Sagesse of Lebanon one of the most powerful team in the Asian market. Coach Vecchio has been the head coach of the Argentina National Team, Venezuela National team, Panama National Team and the Mexican National Team. He has coached in the Olympics, World Championships and has been the head international scout for the Detroit Pistons. Coach Vecchio brings a lot of international expertise to the GBE.

Luca Banchi
Currently the assistant coach with Montepaschi Siena the top team in Italy and one of the best teams in Europe the past couple of seasons. Luca has Euroleague, ULEB Cup, Korac Cup and Italian League experience as a head and assistant coach. Luca has been the Italian U20 National Team Coach and the Italian B National team Coach. Luca is one of the bright young coaching stars in the European game and will add lots of knowledge at the GBE.

Mike Taylor
Currently the head coach of ratiopharm Ulm in the German Bundesliga, Mike Taylor is one of the top young American coaches in Europe. Building ratiopharm Ulm from the ground up, Mike has guided the small-market/small-budget team to steady success starting with a 2.Bundesliga South championship in 2005-2006 and developing step by step into a Bundesliga playoff team this season finishing 21-13 earning their first playoff spot in 10 years. Well-known for his enthusiasm and passion for basketball, Mike brings his unique perspective on winning in the European game and experience developing Ulm step by step in one of the most competitive leagues in Europe. Along with coaching, Mike also covers the Bundesliga writing for Eurobasket and has his own website Mike has a dynamic personality and has appeared several times on Sky TV’s NBA European wide live broadcasts as a special basketball analyst. Mike Taylor was the head coach for the London Leopards in the British Basketball League and also coached in the USBL. Last summer Mike Taylor coached at the ESL Las Vegas event and recruited Dan Fitzgerald from the league who was a valuable member of the Ulm team this season. Eurobasket’s in-house prediction is that one day soon we will be seeing the guy they call Mike T on a NBA or Euroleague sideline. Mike’s experience, personality, enthusiasm and knowledge of the game will be very beneficial to the delegates at the Global Basketball Expo in Las Vegas this summer.

The NCAA Eligibility Center
will be featured in a three day seminar regarding compliance issues for foreign athletes for the benefit of international teams. Thousands of foreign basketball players over the years have played at the NCAA level and there have been a range of eligibility issues develop prior to their arrival to the United States. The objective of the seminar is to education foreign teams on the NCAA compliance rules to decrease player eligibility issues. The NCAA Eligibility Center will benefit by learning more about the international leagues and their different basketball infrastructure.

Sports Management Worldwide
A leading company that offers a variety of sports career training programs to students and athletes will present a seminar on July 9th at the GBE for athletes looking for a career after basketball.  SMW is holding a “Career in Sports Conference” at the NBA Summer League on July 10th and 11th at the Thomas and Mack Center that will feature a range of NBA scouts and GM’s. SMW appearance at the Global Basketball Expo will offer players, students and other individuals an insight to career opportunities in the sports market.

Lynn Lashbrook
Dr. G. Lynn Lashbrook has been working and teaching in Sports Management for over 35 years and has demonstrated a lifelong passion for growing dynamic sports programs. He is known for helping student strategies and reach their career goals in the world of sports. His high energy and well known motivating personality captivates students and athletes. Currently, Dr. Lashbrook is President of Sports Management Worldwide, first ever online sports management company with a mission to educate future sports business executives. Bill Duffy
The CEO of BDA Sports and one of the top agents in the NBA over the past decade is an expert from an agent point of view of the globalization of basketball. BDA represents some of the top international NBA players including Steve Nash and Yao Ming. Besides representing many NBA players BDA has a major presence in Europe with clients who are currently dominating their respective European leagues. Bill Duffy will bring a wealth of information regarding the globalization of basketball to the GBE.

Bouna Ndiaye
Bouna is the one of the top upcoming agents from Europe who has brought some of the top players from France to the NBA. Bouna brought Ronnie Turiaf into the NBA and currently represents Nicholas Batum the bright young rookie from the Portland Trailblazers. He represents other NBA players and has many players in the top leagues in Europe

Doug Harris
The award winning sports film producer from the Bay Area will be presenting the short version of Basketball Guru: The Pete Newell Story documentary at the GBE in the media, film and technology seminar.
Doug is currently the executive director of AUP Media and has a wealth of experience in sports related film projects. YouTube Link

Jeanne McNulty-King
he President CEO of 2X Inc will be featured in our panel discussion of the globalization of basketball in the women’s game. Jeanne is one of the top female agents in the international game representing many WNBA players and many others who play in the top leagues in Europe. Jeanne has been one of the top agents in the women’s market over the past decade and offers a great international perspective in the global game.

Dan Gay
Current manager at Scavalini Pesaro and former American professional basketball player in Italy. As a player Dan is a legend in the A1 Italian League where he played from 1984 – 2006. He had an amazing career in one of the top leagues in Europe and received his Italian citizenship. Dan offers an in-depth knowledge of European basketball from an America perspective from a player and management.

Aran Smith
The owner of is a resource of scouting information from an international perspective and closely follows the top players in the domestic and international markets. Aran will sit on the panel discussion of the globalization of basketball and offers the GBE a lot of current scouting information.

Pete Philo
The current director of the Reebok Eurocamp is one of the brightest minds in the international game. Under Pete’s guidance the Reebok Eurocamp features the top young international prospects that will be drafted in the NBA. Most of the NBA teams will have scouts at the Reebok Eurocamp in Italy every year and is one of the most important events in the global basketball community. Pete is also the head international scout for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Pete is an expert on international basketball and will offer the GBE valuable information.

Ed Palubinskas
he world’s best shooting coach who currently shoots around 98% from the free throw line and trains current NBA players will be featured in a shooting instruction seminar at the GBE. Ed was the leading scorer (33ppg) at the 1976 Olympics, a former NBA 3rd round draft choice, All SEC in 1974 and former US national Free Throw Shooting Champion. Ed set three Olympic scoring records in Montreal in 1976 and holds the Guinness Book of World Records for most free throws made in a hour.

Darryl Reshaw
The current Eurobasket Summer League Director and President CEO of TASM Global Solutions will instruct the new agent seminar at the GBE. Darryl played in Europe for over 12 years in seven different countries and negotiated for TASM over 250 basketball employment contracts in thirty different countries. Darryl is a European basketball expert and manages the event division for Eurobasket  the number one source for international basketball information.

Terry Layton
Is one of the most unique American coaches who haves over 30 years of International, NBA, and NCAA experience. He has coached club teams in Mexico, China, Taiwan, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Costa Rico. Additionally he has coached the National Teams of Panamal, Qatar, Mexico and Guatemala. He has served as a NBA scout and has spoken a many coaching clinics throughout the world as he is a true international basketball expert.

Dailey Training
Eric Dailey a former international basketball player will be featured in a series of basketball training presentations at the Global basketball Expo and the Eurobasket Summer League. Eric has worked with a variety of NBA teams, NBA players, Olympic Teams and other international professionals over the past ten years. He is one of the bright and upcoming trainers in the global basketball market.

Scott Fields
Scott has quickly established himself as one of the more promising up and coming coaches in the business today. His highly enthusiastic coaching style with tireless work ethic has his peers comparing him to the more respected coaches in the top leagues world wide today. With over Twenty years of Coaching experience, ten years as a player, and now Twelve years as a Head Coaching . Scott has accumulated an incredible Win percentage of nearly 800%. Scott has the background and experience to be an asset to any club or franchise looking to take things to the next level. Scott’s teams have won an Asian Championship to add to his list of honors and accolades. Scott's experiences have taken him from coaching at the highest profile colleges and universities in the United States, his teams were ranked nationally, and he had coached the National Player of the Year. Scott has won several “Coach of the Year” awards, in Europe, where he has coached clubs to the best ever seasons, and National Team experience, and two Championships in the Middle East/Asia The impressive thing is he is an immediate impact in every situation he has come in contact with. He leaves every situation better than when he was hired. Scott has also coached at the notorious summer leagues in Italy and Los Angeles and Las Vegas/Salt Lake City’s NBA summer leagues. Scott is also a motivational speaker, and is in demand for camps and clinics for players and coaches worldwide. In his spare time Scott is in the process of writing a book. Scott was also the Head Coach of one of the more prolific teams in all West Asia, and had them undefeated. Scott has also had success in the United States in the CBA
