Harrisburg Horizon opened their 2014 EBA season with a 106-98 win over the York Mighty Ants.

It was the first game of the season for both teams who spent most of the first quarter finding out who their teammates were. Then things settled down and a competitive game developed.

Charlie Parker, returning to the Horizon line-up after stints in Iceland and Denmark, turned in a stellar performance with 28 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals. Demond Vance hit four 3-point shots in the second quarter while scoring 16 of his 20 points. League rookies and Harrisburg natives from Central Dauphin East H.S. Kevin Onyeaka and Jon Breeden had 11 and 10 points respectively.

York Mighty Ants turned in a very solid outing as they make their first appearance in the EBA. As the season progresses and they gain experience, theyll be a team to watch.

Their 64 guard, Quinn Howard led the Ants scoring with 21 points. He was followed by Jerren Harris (Millersville) with 13 points and Chad Tipton (Calif of PA) with 12.

Horizon will be in action on Sunday, January 26, against the Diamond City Playaz (Wilkes-Barre) and the Might Ants will host the Maryland Bayraiders in their home opener the same day at the New Hope Academy in York, PA.
