Hello Usbasket I got a chance to Speak with former EBA MVP and Overseas Player Chris Matthews (6'4''-G-85, college: St.Bonaventure) we talked about about his time in the EBA and whats up next for the 6'4 lights out shooter !

1.Hows your experience been playing overseas?

Playing basketball in Europe has absolutely allowed me to grow and force me to become a better basketball player. Ive been able to see so much in the last three years, playing in different competitive leagues and environments. Imgrateful that God and my hard work have allowed me the opportunity to play with some great clubs and players from all over. Any opportunity that allows me to work with great coaches and players I jump on. I am never satisfied, there always new things to learn, even when you feel like youre at the top of your game. My experiences overseas have been a blessing to me and my family.

2. What are your goals during the off season and what are you working on this summer?

My goal during the off season is always to get better everyday. Thats where the behind the scenes work goes in that no one sees. I continue to focus on keeping my body conditioned and healthy to be the best overall player I can be. Ive been fortunate enough to train with two of the best trainers in the area. The owner of 360 fitness David Vanderpool, and Curtis Yarborough owner of Mo Skills Basketall Training. Both of those guys continue to push me past my limits. Im working on creativity when going to the basket, using my 64 frame to get whatever I want going to the rim. My explosion off the dribble and attack are all things Im focusing on right now. They have both had a huge impact on my development this summer

3.How is the competition overseascompared to the US minor leagues you've played in?

Most of the competition overseas Ive experienced has been good. Its good basketball, and when you through in the fans and home court advantage it makes things fun. I love how intense it is playing on the road; itreminds me so much of college. The players overseas and in the US minor leagues are no different. Both are hungry but overseas play can be a lot more aggressive, the type of basketball I love.

4.Where are you looking to play next season?

Ive switched to a new agency and I have two camps Ive been invited to one in Italy the other in Las Vegas. My goal is to play for a great club that I will be with for a while and be able to consistently contribute to winning seasons.
