Wizards Man Up For First Exhibition Win - Dec 10, 2012

EBA's Articles

The New York Wizards of the Eastern Basketball Alliance opened up their 2012/2013 announced World Tour with a game against the American Professional Basketball League. The tour is intended to showcase the EBA, its players, and its product for the purpose of greater fan interest, EBA expansion, and overseas contracts for its players. Its the Wizards vs. All Comers, Pro, Minor League, Club Teams, and Exhibition Games!

The Wizards played their first exhibition game on Friday 12/7 in Westbury New York against the NY Jaguars of the APBL. Although winless in APBL play the Jaguars are much improved from their EBA showing last season. In 4 APBL games this season the Jaguars are averaging 104 PPG and its opponents are averaging 124 PPG. So how did they fair against the EBA Wizards? The Wizards won 134 - 73, holding the Jaguars to only 24 points in the first half and 31 points below their season game average.

The Wizards are a suffocating man to man defensive club with 66 forward SaiQoun Stone of Southern Mississippi State shutting down any opponent he is matched against. Stone finished the game with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocks. The best defensive effort I have seen in my 6 minor league seasons Stated Wizards Head coach Greg Cerillo

Two-time EBA MVP Aubin Scott finished with 10 points and 10 assists and 4 steals once again causing havoc for opponents and dishing out countless passes to a new improved Wizards lineup. Co-Captain Brandon Lawley, last season's EBA rebounding leader scored 14 points and pulled down 19 rebounds. Shavar Richardson out of Florida Atlantic scored 28 points on a variety of long range bombs and basket attacks. 69 center Ant Cox from Farmingdale State dominated the paint with 3 dunks to go with his 16 points and 13 rebounds. Guards Trinity Fields from Iona and Kevin Terry from Montana State shut down the opposition all night while keeping the high powered Wizards at full speed. 66 Power forward Lawrence Williams contributed 5 points in the 1st quarter to go with his 4 game rebounds.

The star of the evening though was 66 forward Khalil McDonald from Queens College who poured in 49 points grabbed 16 boards, blocked 3 shots and stepped in between his opponent for 3 steals.

K put on a show Stated Wizards Head Coach Greg Cerillo This is an example of what a player can do who works hard every minute on the floor. To go along with great talent, Khalil has the best motor in all minor league basketball.

Roman Perez paced the Jaguars with 22 points, with teammate Corey Riley getting 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wizards Management wishes to remind all Coaches and General Managers national or international of their availability to play exhibition games throughout the season. In addition Wizards Management will make these talented players available for financially beneficial contracts immediately with no delay.
