Dontell Jefferson (196-G-83, college: Arkansas) current player of Al Ahli Sports Club Doha (Qatar-D1) gave an interview:

Why you decided to be a pro player.

It was a dream of mine as a kid once i stopped playing football.

There are many players without a job fighting for the same spots, how hard is to wait for your ideal offer and not take the first that comes up considering that the next one may not come soon?

It's extremely hard. I think you just have to figure out what's best for your situation and go from there.

Which was the best game you had in your career so far?

Thats a tough one. I honestly would just have to go with me scoring my 1st point in the NBA. I have had so many games that i think i played great in but i would have to go with that one as being the best. To see the work you put in over the years finally pay off to that moment was a blessing.

Tell us your strong point and your weakness in your game.

I would say being able to get to the basket, draw fouls, playing in the pick n role and being a 6'5 pg would be my strong point and being consistent with my 3point range is my weakest.

Which player was the hardest opponent to play against?

I would have to say Vince Carter. He actually accepted the challenge of guarding me as well which made it even more of a challenge for myself.

Tell about the best teammates you had so far.

I would have to say everyone i have played with. They all did something rather in practice or games that helped me elevate my game. It wouldn't be fair to single anyone out.

Which coach you want to thank because he made you better player.

I thank them all. With each coach there is a new learning experience that you just try to use it and apply it to your game or life to become better.

Role player in a big team or star in a smaller one?

I have played both roles in my career and I am ok with both. As a player you just try to get better everyday and do whatever you can to help your team win.

Which is your favorite basketball shoe? Which one you wear now?

I big on wearing a lightweight shoe, so anything light with good support. Im currently wearing the hyperdunks.

What plans you have for the future?

Once the season is finished here in Doha I will take some time to relax and then start training and looking at options for next year.
