Rockets assign Motiejunas to Vipers, recall Jones - Jan 23, 2013

Houston Rockets forward-center Donatas Motiejunas (7'0''-F/C-90, agency: Interperformances) was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Tuesday. He will be available for the Vipers Wednesday when they play host to the Texas Legends at State Farm Arena. Its Motiejunas third assignment with the Vipers. He averaged 23.5 points and 8.3 rebounds in four games with the Vipers. Motiejunas has played in 14 games with the Rockets, averaging 1.6 points and 3.1 minutes.
The Rockets also recalled forward Terrence Jones (6'9''-F-92, college: Kentucky), who played for the Vipers in their previous 10 games.

D-Fenders hire Mark Madsen - May 14, 2013

Los Angeles D-Fenders announced the name of their new head coach. Mark Madsen will take over the team in the next season. He will replace Reggie Theus who left for Cal State Northridge basketball programme. Last season Mark Madsen worked as assistant coach with Stanford. Previously he had a stint as assistant coach with D-League's Utah Flash. Mark Madsen played nine seasons in the NBA. He was NBA champion twice with the Lakers in 2001 and 2002.
