25-year old center Keith Benson (210-104kg-88, college: Oakland) left Erie Bay Hawks. In 17 D-League games he played this season he averaged 10.7ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.2apg and 1.5bpg.
The last season Benson played at the Warriors (NBA). But in three games last year he did not score anything and had only 3 rebounds. He also played at Sioux Falls Skyforce that season. In 20 D-League games he had very impressive stats: 15.2ppg, 7.8rpg and 1.5bpg. Benson was called during the season by the Atlanta Hawks. The other team he played shortly was Banco di Sardegna Sassari (SerieA) in Italian SerieA. In four games he had 5.5ppg and 5.8rpg.
Two years ago Benson was drafted by Atlanta Hawks (NBA) in second round (48th overall). He attended Oakland University until 2011 and it is his second season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Bensons college team won Summit League Tournament for two years in a row (2010 and 2011). He received also All-Summit League Player of the Year award and All-Summit League Defensive Player of the Year award in 2011.
Bensons game is described as: Hes yet too green to play at professional level, but has a 7-2 wingspan, great leaping ability and athletic skills. Great upside at center position, but needs of some playing time yet.
