D-League to Get a Boost from Europe's Faltering Economy - Sep 2, 2012

Quality American players are expected to flood the D-League in droves as the Euro sinks to historical lows (1.25 - 1) and European teams struggle to fund their budgets.
Last year's NBA lockout was a temporary boost to European basketball. But, this season, players looking for stability will not board any international flights (void Toronto).
Players and agents are tired of chasing Euro teams for money. Very few American hoopers are venturing to Europe for the cultural experience. When a player decides between Europe and the D-League, the decision factors are: Money, NBA call up possibility, and the inconvenience of being far from home. The D-League lacks only in salary, but at least the payment are on time and secure. So, as European teams continue to fail to meet their contractual obligations, American players will follow a flight to quality, which may actually mean more bus rides, but no jet lag.
  



Oshkosh may pursue NBA D-League team - May 24, 2016

Oshkosh officials are considering making a proposal to the NBA, to place a developmental league team in the city. City Manager Mark Rohloff says the Bucks want a D-Leauge team within two hours of Milwaukee. The team put out a request for proposals. Rohloff says they would use the temporary facility for the first five to 10 years, and then they could move to a permanent building. He says they would need 2,500 to 3,000 seats.
