Tulsa 66ers (101) at Los Angeles D-Fenders (100) Tulsa escaped from Los Angeles with a valuable 101-100road victory last night. Tulsa seemed to have the game in hand as they opened up a double-digit in the third quarter and entered the final frame up 80-68, but LA staged a furious comeback only to fall short in the final minute. The home squad jumped out to a quick start, as the D-Fenders went up 19-9 with a little more than five minutes to go in the first quarter, but the 66ers went on a 17-6 run to end the quarter up 26-25. In the final quarter the D-Fenders outscored the 66ers 16-5 in the last four plus minutes of the game, but a Larry Owens (6'7''-G/F-83, college: ORU) free throw with under a minute left put the game out of reach. The Armor let the refs and the Toros get to them as head coach Dee Brown was ejected in the third quarter, while Abdulai Jalloh, Dante Milligan and Marcus Campbell each were assessed technical fouls. The third quarter was especially ugly as Austin outscored Springfield 44-20. Temple is familiar with the Rockets organization as he played for their Summer League entry in Las Vegas and impressed management during training camp. With the Rockets a little banged up due to injuries to Kyle Lowry and Trevor Ariza, Temple will be able to fill in a little at both guard spots. In two games with the Rockets, Conroy scored four points while picking up two rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes of action as the back-up point guard. Temple is expected to be in uniform for the Rockets game tonight against Miami.

The Golden State Warriors have signed former Idaho Stampede big man Anthony Tolliver (6'9''-C-85, college: Creighton) for the remainder of the season. The team waived veteran point guard Speedy Claxton (5'10''-G-78, college: Hofstra) to make room for Tolliver. Tolliver, a 6-9 forward out of Creighton, had played out his second consecutive 10-day contract on Saturday, thus the Warriors were prompted to either sign him or release him back to the free agent pool. They decided that the third year player was a good enough fit to warrant waiving the valuable asset that was Claxtons expiring contract. In 11 games for the Warriors this season Tolliver is averaging 8.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in just over 26 minutes per contest. Prior to joining the Warriors Tolliver spent a few games with Portland, where he appeared briefly over two games. On the season with the Stampede of the NBA D-League, Tolliver started all 14 contests he appeared in and averaged 21.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks while shooting 46.9% from the field. For his D-League career which has been split between Iowa, Austin and Idaho, the smooth-shooting Tolliver has averaged 14.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 48.3% (37.1% 3PT) over 55 games. Claxton, the 20th overall selection of the 2000 NBA Draft has not appeared in a game this season for the Warriors. Over his injury-plagued eight year NBA career he has averaged 9.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists. He was a key contributor to the 2002-03 San Antonio Spurs Championship squad.
