Cape Breton Highlanders (NBL Canada) signed experienced 34-year old Canadian small forward Sefton Barrett (196-83, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Blacktop Management). He just played at BC Nokia in Finnish Korisliiga. In 21 games he had 11.0ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg this season. Barrett also played earlier that season for Snaefell (Dominos League) in Iceland where in 11 Korisliiga games he recorded very impressive stats: 21.0ppg, 11.3rpg, 3.1apg, 3.1spg and 1.4bpg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Finnish League in 2013. Barrett was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Finnish Korisliiga Honorable Mention back in 2013.
He is quite experienced player. Barrett has played also professionally in France (Saint Vallier), Germany (Uni Baskets), Poland (Kotwica), Finland (KTP Basket) and Canada (Halifax_Rainmen and London Lightning).
He attended Central Michigan University until 2007 and it is his tenth season as a professional player.
Barrett could be described: explosive athlete with a long wingspan... great slasher who gets in the lane when he wants to... finishes above the rim but also can pull up for the mid range jumper... very difficult to stop because of his quickness and athletic ability... Sefton is able to create his own shot... he possesses good ball handling skills... can defend all outside positions... very effective player who brings lots of energy to the team when he is on the floor...
