St. John's Edge (NBL Canada) signed experienced 36-year old Canadian ex-international guard Carl English (195-81, college: Hawaii). He played last season at ALBA Berlin in German BBL league. English managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 24 BBL games he had 9.0ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.0apg. He helped them to make it to the German Bundesliga Cup Semifinals. The University of Calgary Dinos men's basketball team held off the Winnipeg Wesmen once again on Sunday evening, earning a 103-89 victory. With the win, Calgary moves to 6-0 on the season, while Winnipeg slips to 1-5. After struggling from the three-point line Saturday, the Dinos were able to regain their stroke, shooting 45.5% from deep.
