Arild
Geugjes
Forward Arild Geugjes (203-F) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Cape Breton, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22.
The -year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds, while his team crushed Acadia (#3, 7-2) with 21-point margin 93-72. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Cape Breton to consolidate first place in the Canadian CIS. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Cape Breton keeps perfect 11 -0 record. It's Geugjes' second year at Cape Breton and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Arild Geugjes averages this season 12.3ppg and 7.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (175-G-91) of Calgary. Ogungbemi-Jackson had a very good evening with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. It was enough for Calgary to edge slightly lower-ranked TWU (#6, 5-9) 93-92. Calgary's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ogungbemi-Jackson is one of the most experienced players at Calgary and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Tonner Jackson (201-G) of TWU (#6). Jackson got into 30-points club by scoring 36 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . Despite Jackson's great performance TWU lost 92-93 to slightly higher-ranked Calgary (#5, 7-7). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of TWU not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jackson could try to bring TWU's a little bit higher in the standings. Jackson has a very solid season. In 6 games in Canada he scored 14.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Matthew Schmidt (198-F-89) of Lakehead - 27 points and 3 rebounds
5. Mike Luby (213-F) of Brock - 18 points and 13 rebounds
6. Thijin Moses (201) of Calgary - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Deontay Smith) of UPEI - 28 points and 9 rebounds
8. Patrick Burns (198-G) of Saskatchewan - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Aaron Best (193-G) of Ryerson - 24 points and 10 rebounds
10. Alex Hill (196-G-90) of Toronto Univ. - 31 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
