Alexandre
Bernard
Alexandre Bernard (196-F) had a very impressive game in the last round for UQAM and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
The -year old forward had a double-double of 24 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team beat Laval (#5, 2-7) 88-76. UQAM maintains the 4th position in Canadian CIS. UQAM is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-5 record. In the team's last game Bernard had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be UQAM's top player in his first season with the team. Alexandre Bernard averages this season 14.3ppg and 8.9rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old forward Kyrie Coleman (F) of Waterloo. Coleman impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Waterloo cruised to a 67-60 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Laurier (#6, 3-9). Waterloo's 7th position in the standings has not changed. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Waterloo managed to get this year. Coleman is a newcomer at Waterloo and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Jonar Huertas (183-G) of Manitoba (#4). Huertas scored 25 points and passed five assists. He was a key player of Manitoba, leading his team to a 97-85 win against the lower-ranked Mount Royal (#7, 2-10). Manitoba needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 5 lost games. Huertas has a very solid season. In 13 games in Canada he scored 13.2ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Thibaud Dezutter) of Laval - 31 points and 7 rebounds
5. Stephan Walton (178-G-87) of Manitoba - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Andrew Cunningham (186-G) of Winnipeg - 17 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Benny Iko (198-F) of Winnipeg - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Mike Luby (213-F) of Brock - 18 points and 8 rebounds
9. Philippe Tamba (F) of UQAM - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Nick Loewen (196-F) of Mount Royal - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
