Meshack Lufile claims Canadian CIS weekly honour - Nov 19, 2012

Meshack Lufile (203-F) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Cape Breton and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 6.
The -year old forward had a double-double of 29 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Memorial (#8, 0-6) with 24-point margin 103-79. Cape Breton maintains the 2nd position in Canadian CIS. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Cape Breton already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. It's Lufile's second year at Cape Breton and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Meshack Lufile averages just after three games 14.7ppg and 8.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old American forward Benny Iko (198-F) of Winnipeg. Iko impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he lead Winnipeg to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Brandon (#7, 1-5) 103-72. Winnipeg's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 4-2 record is not bad at all. Iko is well-known by Winnipeg fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Winnipeg's star - American Steven Wesley (196-F). Wesley scored 19 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Winnipeg, helping his team with a 103-72 easy win against the lower-ranked Brandon (#7, 1-5). Winnipeg needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Wesley has a great season in Canada. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.0rpg (9th best).

9. Boris Hadzimuratovic (204-F-91) of Laval - 11 points and 11 rebounds
10. Sam Hattin (195-G) of Winnipeg - 15 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Cape Breton Highlanders (NBL Canada) signed 26-year old Canadian forward Chadrack Lufile (206-120kg-90, college: Wichita State). He already started the season at Nuernberg in German ProA. Two years ago Lufile was drafted by Sioux Falls Skyforce (D-League) in third round (46th overall). He attended Wichita State until 2014 and it is his third season in pro basketball. LEB Silver newcomer Hispagan UPB Gandia tabbed Canadian guard Jonathan Tull (193-88kg, college: Central Connecticut State). He just graduated from Central Connecticut State. In 27 games he averaged impressive 17.0ppg, 5.4rpg, 2.0apg and 2.1spg last season. He can count that year as a very successful as was selected to All-CanWest 2nd Team. London Lightning adds Cadougan to their roster - 4 days ago

London Lightning (NBL Canada) added to their roster 26-year old Canadian guard Junior Cadougan (187-93kg-90, college: Marquette). He played last season at Trikalla in Greek A1 league. In 23 games he recorded 7.4ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.7apg. The previous (14-15) season Cadougan played at Scandone in Italian Serie A where in 19 games he averaged just 2.2ppg.
