London Lightning inked 26-year old American center DeAndre Thomas (203-134kg-86, college: Robert Morris). Thomas played most recently at Chang Thailand Slammers in Thailand (they played in the ASEAN League). In 9 games last season he averaged impressive 20.1ppg, 7.1rpg and 1.8apg. He also spent pre-season at Redline in IBA that year. Thomas also played at Halifax_Rainmen that season. In only one NBL Canada game last year he had 4 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal.
Two years ago (a year after he left the college) Thomas was drafted by Fort Wayne Mad Ants (D-League) in eighth round (7th overall).
The former Robert Morris College star is in his fourth season in pro basketball.
His team was regular season runner-up in IBL International Division in 2011.
Thomas was selected to IBL All-Star Game in 2011.
He is a very experienced player. Thomas has played also professionally in Chile (Universidad de Concepcion), PBL (Lawton Fort Sill Cavalry), IBA (Albany Legends) and ABA (Chicago Steam).
Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him to get the job in pro basketball.
