At age 15 Notice has already been named MVP at the 2009 National Championchip and was part of the CAndian Basketball Cadet Mens National Team that finished third at the 2009 FIBA AMERICAS CHAMPIONCHIP. In only his second year of high school, Notice is already a leader on his St Mikes Raiders squad on the court averaging 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assits per game. His teammates also see Notice as a quiet leader off the court who leads by example. Canada Basketball will be looking to Duane Notice to make a contribution in 2010 as the Cadet Mens team will travel to Hamburg Germany in July for the FIBA U17 World Championchip.

UBC finished the regular season as the top-seeded CIS team earning a 17-1 record. The T-Birds wrapped up the regular season with a tough 90:83 win over Trinity Western. The Spartans entered the game with their backs against the wall. They had to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. But the T-Birds managed to escape with a late victory. UBC led throughout the major part of the game but Trinity Western refused to surrender. The Spartans drew things level at 72 midway through the fourth quarter [read more]

The Spartans entered the game with their backs against the wall. They had to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. But the T-Birds managed to escape with a late victory. UBC led throughout the major part of the game but Trinity Western refused to surrender. The Spartans drew things level at 72 midway through the fourth quarter. But the T-Birds pulled away late as Josh Whyte (191-G-87) accounted for several crucial points. Blair LaBranche (193-G-83) produced game-high 32 points to lead the T-Birds. Josh Whyte added 24 points for the winners. Jacob Doerksen (200-F-87) responded with 23 points for the Spartans. Tonner Jackson (201-G) notched 17 points in the loss. UBC will now face Alberta in the best-of-three playoff first round series. The Spartans stopped just step away from the playoff zone. Ryerson held off York 69:66 behind 33 points from Boris Bakovic (201-F-88). The effort from the CIS best scorer marked 2,000 career points mark for Bakovic. The teams were knotted up at 28 at the main break. The teams stayed close throughout the second half. The Lions pulled in front 64:62 late in regulation. Boris Bakovic stepped up for the Rams hitting a decisive three-pointer and putting Ryerson up for good. Joey Imbrogno had 11 points for the winners. Ricardo Dunkley (183-G) netted 10 points for the Rams. David Tyndale (180-G) answered with 26 points for York. Dejan Krevic had 11 points in defeat.
