-Interview with Dakota Wizards, Assistant Coach Rob Spon

Q:  Are you happy to be coaching in the CBA, any goals?
A:  My goal is to win a Championship in Dakota.  I am very excited to be a part of the CBA and hope to move up to the NBA; this is a good stop for me.

Q:  How will the Wizards make it to the Championship and get the rings?  You are a Championship Coach, how will your team do it?
A:  Great staff from the office to the bench.  Coach Bliss has over 500 wins under his belt on the College level and Notree played for Dakota last year which helps.  To win the Championship you have to have guys who know how to WIN like Billy Thomas (6'5''-G-75, college: Kansas) and Maurice Baker (6'1''-G-79, college: Oklahoma St.); even our rookie Geoff Husted (6'11''-C-83, college: Gannon) has won a College Championship.  We are looking forward to bringing the trophy back to Dakota and getting those rings!

Q:  Right now you are #1, but how do you WIN on the Road?
A:  We will be keeping our #1 spot as we travel Wednesday to meet up with Michigan and then move on to Gary, we have had success on the road this season by coming out of the locker room and playing agressive.  The number one thing you have to do on the road is take the crowd out of the game; control the game by keeping the ball low and take shots.

Q:  This past week Maurice Baker (6'1''-G-79, college: Oklahoma St.) was awarded the first Player of the Week for the 2005-06 season, any thoughts?
A:  He deserves it.  He worked hard, he works hard.  As Mo goes, the Wizards go.  He gets things started on both sides of the floor, from offense to defense he does a great job for this team.

Q:  One last question Coach, for many years you have been a 'villain' to these Bismark fans, as you were with Minot in the IBA, how are they treating you now that you are a Wizard?
A:  I think they are glad to have me on their side.  Then I was a Snowbear and we beat them in the Western Finals, taking their Championship hopes away.  Now I am happy to be on the other side too helping them win.  I remember this song always being played, 'Cecila', whenever I was a competitor and they were leading by a good margin, it would start with 4 minutes left in the game.  Last week I asked why they weren't playing
